Registered Midwife
I am a registered midwife and mother currently working for a local NHS Trust
in Essex,
providing care for antenatal, labouring and postnatal women.
I graduated in 2000 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Midwifery.
I am a member of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal
College of Nurses (RCN). My practice is regulated
by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
A wide Experience in the different Birthing Processes
My work involves assisting couples who wish to have natural labours - with minimal
intervention, active birth, using various positions as the woman chooses and
water births when these are required.
My work also involves caring for couples through the more “high tech”
birthing processes - induction of labour, birthing with the aid of epidural anaesthesia,
instrumental deliveries ie ventouse and forceps and offering support during
caesarean sections.
Caring for women during the antenatal, labour and postnatal periods on a daily
basis has enabled me to gain invaluable experience to support couples through
this very personal, dynamic and unique time.
I am passionate about my profession and recognise that a positive birthing experience
has a significant impact on the long-term health of the family. Even if the birthing
experience is not the one wished for or planned, with appropriate knowledge and support,
the process can still be positive and empowering.
